WAYS TO STAY HEALTHY WHILE AT HOME


Whoever said home is where the heart is only had it half right. Home is also where your best health is. With more of us spending time at home these days, it’s important that we explore new approaches to healthy living. Let’s look at some easy ways to get and stay healthy without ever leaving your home.

Jogging, aerobic moves like jumping jacks and strengthening exercises such as squats and lunges are all intensified in the water, helping you to burn more calories. As an added bonus, the water reduces the stress on your joints.

One of the best ways to rid your body of stress is with soothing heat. No, that doesn’t mean you need to book a trip to a tropical beach. You can de-stress in the comfort of your own home with your very own hot tub or sauna.

A hot tub combines heated water and jet massage for a relaxing and healing experience. The heat of the water loosens and warms your muscles, while improving circulation, offering relief from tightness, swelling and inflammation.

Perhaps the best thing about a spa is that you can decide on the type of massage you need whether that is full-body, or a more targeted treatment.

A sauna is also an ideal way to relax tight muscles. Aside from that, however, are a whole host of health benefits from detoxification to pain relief to improving sleep and boosting your cardiovascular health.

3.Healthy Eating

Now that we’ve looked after mind and physical fitness, let’s concentrate on proper nourishment of the body. We all know how important it is to eat a healthy diet. One thing that can help you do just that is your barbecue.

Although traditionally done in the warmer months, there’s no reason why you can’t use your barbecue year-round. When you grill your meat and vegetables, the nutrients and vitamins are sealed into the food, ensuring you receive the full nutritional benefit they bring. There is also less fat in your meat because the excess drips off of it through the grates.

Barbecuing also translates into more leisure time because your kitchen won’t require a big clean up. Spend more time enjoying your hot tub, pool or swim spa, and less time cooking and cleaning!
