5 Hot Tub Games to Enjoy with Friends and Family

Hot tubs are an incredible way to slow down the speed of life and relax. But when you are hosting a social event, you don’t want to let the relaxing nature of hydrotherapy bring down the energy. Liven up your next party or family night with these hot tub games that are fun for all ages!

Game #1 – Ping Pong Panic

What You Need:

Five ping pong balls

Goal:

Players must not touch the ping pong balls with any part of their bodies.

How to Play:

Begin with five ping pong balls. Drop the balls into the center of the tub and then scramble like mad to get out of the way. The only rule is that you must keep both feet inside the tub at all times. If a ball touches you then you must sit outside of the tub until there is only one player left. Continue to add two balls to the tub every 15 seconds until there is only one person left. The last person remaining in the tub is the winner and may then impose whatever penalty they choose onto all the losers.

Game #2 – Rubber Duck Races

What You Need:

A rubber duck

How to Play:

You can use rubber ducks or anything that floats for this game. The object is for each player or team to get their duck to the other side first. You can push, blow or splash—just don’t use your hands.

Game #3 – Cards (Waterproof of course!)

What You Need:

Waterproof playing cards and a Frisbee.

How to Play:

Grab a Frisbee and flip it upside down to use as a playing table and you should use plastic (waterproof) cards. You can play any card game you want, but you should pick a game that will fit on the frisbee and doesn’t require speed.

Game #4 – Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is a game designed for the players to reveal secrets about themselves and to learn more about each other.

What You Need:

Interesting friends and 3 – 10 fingers

How to Play:

Raise a designated amount of fingers depending on how long you want to play. The more fingers you raise, the longer the game lasts. Decide who goes first. That person will make a statement about something they have never done such as ‘Never have I ever gone skydiving.’ If anyone in the group has, they have to put a finger down. If no one in the group has, the person who made the statement has to put a finger down. Continue around the tub clockwise until the game is over.

The person who puts all of their fingers down first is probably the most interesting but also loses the game.

Pro Tip:

Coming up with statements on the spot can be very hard. You find yourself only able to think about things that you actually HAVE done. It may be worth it to think of some things to say beforehand.

Game #5 – Dance or Get Out

This game is simple, fun and provides players with a bit of exercise.

What You Need:

Listening skills and the ability to move your body

How to Play:

Anytime someone says, “It’s time to dance!” everyone has to dance.

The last person to start dancing has to get out of the hot tub for five minutes.

The game continues for as long as everyone wants to play.
